IMAGINE- by Hunter Dowd

Imagine riding on a dragon
Around the world

Imagine speaking every
language in the world

Imagine being
where nobody has been

Imagine flyin
in the sky

Imagine everybody
got what they dreamed of

Imagine in America
They stopped letting people have guns

Imagine everybody
in the world was happy, most of the time!

Imagine there was
no killing in the world

Imagine stepping on the
moon like Neil Armstrong
and looking back at earth

Imagine standing on
Mount Everest like Edmund Hilliary
For the very first time

Imagine how difficult
this is writing this poem

Just imagine !

Hunters reflection

Mandalay - By Rudyard Kipling

By the old Moulmein Pagoda,  lookin' lazy at the sea,
There's a Burma girl a - settin, and I know she thinks o' me,
For the wind is in the palm-trees, and the temple-bells they say:

''Come you back, you British soldier; come you back to mandalay!''

Come you back to mandalay,
Where the old Flotilla lay:
Can' t you ' ear their paddles chunkin' from Rangoon to Mandalay?

On the road to mandalay,
Where the flyin' fishes play,
An' the dawn comes up like thunder outer China
'crost the bay!

this is not the all of the poem, this poem is about a British soldier thinking about his time in Burma when he was in the war, he really misses the country and a lady in particular.

It was one of my  grandfathers favourite poems, so he told it to my mum, and she told me

My favourite line here is
Where the flyin' fishes play

As lonely- by Hunter dowd

As lonely as a book
with no words inside

As lonely as a whiteboard
with no words

As lonely as a taxi
with no people inside

As lonely as a meteorite
 drifting into space

As lonely as a statue
sweating in the sun

As lonely as an  egg
waiting to get hatched

As lonely as an eagle
in the foggy clouds

a very nice book of rhimes (martina)

Hello,
when in class we have been working on poems and we had to choose a book I allways took the book of poems "Revolting Rhymes" by Rohl Dahl.
There common  tales, maby some a litle different from the real story, put in rime and so he made a poem.
my favorite one is ...
The animal I really dig
Above all others is the pig.
Pigs are noble. Pigs are clever,
Pigs are corteous. However,
Now and then, to break this rule,
One meets a pig who is a fool.
What, for example, would you say
If strolling through the woods one day,
Right there in front of you you saw
A pig who'd built his house of STRAW?
The Wolf who saw it licked his lips,
And said, ``That pig has had his chips.''
``Little pig, little pig, let me come in!''
``No, no, by the hairs on my chinny-chin-chin!''
``Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in!''
The little pig began to pray,
But Wolfie blew his house away.
He shouted, ``Bacon, pork and ham!
Oh, what a lucky Wolf I am!''
And though he ate the pig quite fast,
He carefully kept the tail till last.
Wolf wandered on, a trifle bloated.
Surprise, surprise, for soon he noted
Another little house for pigs,
And this one had been built of TWIGS!
``Little pig, little pig, let me come in!''
``No, no, by the hairs on my chinny-chin-chin!''
``Then I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow your house in!''
The Wolf said, ``Okay, here we go!''
He then began to blow and blow.
The little pig began to sqeal.
He cried, ``Oh Wolf, you've had one meal!
Why can't we talk and make a deal?
The Wolf replied, ``Not on your nelly!''
And soon the pig was in his belly.
``Two juicy little pigs!'' Wolf cried,
``But still I'm not quite satisfied!
I know how full my tummy's bulging,
But oh, how I adore indulging.''
So creeping quietly as a mouse,
The Wolf approached another house,
A house which also had inside
A little piggy trying to hide.
But this one, Piggy Number Three,
Was bright and brainy as could be.
No straw for him, no twigs or sticks.
This pig had built his house of BRICKS.
``You'll not get me!'' the Piggy cried.
``I'll blow you down!'' the Wolf replied.
``You'll need,'' Pig said, ``a lot of puff,
And I don't think you've got enough.''
Wolf huffed and puffed and blew and blew.
The house stayed up as good as new.
``If I can't blow it down,'' Wolf said,
I'll have to blow it up instead.
I'll come back in the dead of night
And blow it up with dynamite!''
Pig cried, ``You brute! I might have known!''
Then, picking up the telephone,
He dialed as quickly as he could
The number of red Riding Hood.
``Hello,'' she said. ``Who's speaking? Who?
Oh, hello, Piggy, how d'you do?''
Pig cried, ``I need your help, Miss Hood!
Oh help me, please! D'you think you could?''
``I'll try of course,'' Miss Hood replied.
``What's on your mind...?'' ``A Wolf!'' Pig cried.
``I know you've dealt with wolves before,
And now I've got one at my door!''
``My darling Pig,'' she said, ``my sweet,
That's something really up my street.
I've just begun to wash my hair.
But when it's dry, I'll be right there.''
A short while later, through the wood,
Came striding brave Miss Riding Hood.
The Wolf stood there, his eyes ablaze
And yellowish, like mayonnaise.
His teeth were sharp, his gums were raw,
And spit was dripping from his jaw.
Once more the maiden's eyelid flickers.
She draws the pistol from her knickers.
Once more she hits the vital spot,
And kills him with a single shot.
Pig, peeping through the window, stood
And yelled, ``Well done, Miss Riding Hood!''
Ah, Piglet, you must never trust
Young ladies from the upper crust.
For now, Miss Riding Hood, one notes,
Not only has two wolfskin coats,
But when she goes from place to place
She has a PIGSKIN TRAVELLING CASE.

Loneliness Francesca

As lonely as an immigrant
missing their own country

As lonely as a dead body
alone in its tomb

As lonely as a face
with no freckles

As lonely as a homework
that's not been marked

As lonely as planet Pluto
waiting for a visit

As lonely as a diary
who secrets are not revealed

As lonely as an orphan
with no parents to love

A song Francesca likes

A song I really like is Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles. This song talks about these two lonely people: Eleanor Rigby and Father McKenzie.
I really liked this song because it explains in a verse what these people are like.
Here are the lines I liked most:

"Waits at the window, wearing the face
That she keeps in a jar by the door, who is it for?"

I hope you like the song.

As Lonely As A ......

As lonely as an iceberg slowly slowly melting down

As lonely as a monk without a church

As lonely as a mouse stuck in a hole of a house

As lonely as a book without nothing written

As lonely as an island without treasure

As lonely as a man waiting for his bus

As lonely as a goal keeper waiting for the ball

Loneliness

As lonely as a dog
looking for its owner

As lonely as a child
walking in the rain

As lonely as a coat
hanging on its hook

As lonely as a boat
in the wild ocean

As wild as a wolf
howling in the twilight

As lonely as a miner
 working in the dark

similies and metaphors by Luca

In class we have learnt about similies and metaphors and now i am going to share my knowledge through this blog.

Similies-If you use a similie you give an example of how that thing is like
     eg
        "as lonely as a boat
         in the ocean  "

Metaphors-A metaphor is when you treat an object like another one
     eg
"prize porkers going to the market in cars"
This really doesn't mean that some porks are going to the market in cars but that some people are going to the market in cars while they dont know that the car will kill them like a pig going to the market and when he arrives there he is going to die.

                                                      Thankyou

Francesca's poem

Hi, my name is Francesca and I'm learning about poetry. This week we worked on creating poems. The best poems I wrote is the car one. I worked with Ilaria and because I liked it so much I memorized all.

"I cherish my car,
I'm the queen of the road,
 It brings me where
 I want to go.

I'm gliding in my luxurious car,
 While losers are stuck outside
 Under the pouring rain
 Full of pain.

 I'm free in my car
 I don't have a boring person
 That gives me orders
 I'm free to do whatever.

 Walking is slow and old-style
Instead my car is a rocket
 Broom, broom, broom
 And I'm gone."

I hope you like it and let me know what you think.

"Shyness is nice,
but shyness can stop you,
from doing all the things in life
You'd like to..."
